National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) Dashboard

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), created by Indiana University’s Centre for Postsecondary Research, measures the quality of student experiences at over 1,500 institutions in the U.S. and Canada, focusing on engagement with faculty, staff, and services. The survey measures the quality of the student experience for first-year and senior year undergraduate students, with a focus on student engagement with faculty and institutional programs/activities.

The University of Toronto participates in NSSE every three years, with its most recent administration in 2023. The NSSE dashboard provides a overview of key NSSE results from U of T from 2014 to 2023. In addition, it contains benchmarking data from the U15 universities for 2023.

Any questions about the NSSE data can be directed to David Newman, Executive Director, Student Experience at david.newman@utoronto.ca.

This dashboard has been designed to be as accessible as possible and to achieve compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). However, if you experience any barriers to accessing the information within, please email data@utoronto.ca and we will work with you to provide appropriate alternative formats and/or communication supports.
